1988

1988 is definitely a album that needs to get recognition!!!!

Rapper/Producer Craig Smith is one of my peeps that's really out here doing something and contributing to hip hop in not only KC, but internet wide as well.

With his latest release entitled "1988" he gives a closer feel and look into his personality and diversity as an artist and producer. I don’t think you can fake this kind of talent. With his tracks "Money Maker Mitch" advertising a product from the emphamous Hatin’ Tony and the track "Michael Jackson" mocking rappers and then saves the serious track “Rock Bottom” for last.

There are some diverse lyricist out there, but his style and diversity as an artist has progressed into something incredibleand is destined for greatness if he keeps it up. Bangin' tracks "Movin" to Juelz Santana's Clockwork track and the title track "1988", a track I've seen performed on BET Rap City in the booth Mr. Smith went hard on the track giving a brief explanation of what the CD's about.

"1988" promises to have something that everyone will like, love, or laugh to. I haven’t heard a album that is this funny, real, true or that I could relate to in a long while. Big ups Mr. Smith keep doing yo’ thang, I loved it. When’s the next album coming out?

"KC STAND UP" rating ====== A+

Marriage: Should NOT Be A New Years Resolution

I keep saying to myself…Wow, I’m getting married! I never really thought after a lot previous bad relationship and dating that I would A, get married ever and B, marry my crush from middle school/high school. I mean I’m not necessarily the most fashionable gal on the block, I have bad eye sight, I can be picky as hell and well lets face it, I’m not thick like a lot of men like. So had basically had given up and decided it would just be me, myself and my little yorkie puppy and I’d be happy. I thought I was a lost cause, but more on that later.

What brings me to this subject is, I saw a headline on either MSN or Yahoo, I can’t remember which, but it read New Years Resolution: “Get Married This Year”, and the blurb underneath that had something to do with find your soul mate this year. It stood out because #1, it sounded like a task on someone’s to-do list rather a hope of some sort and #2 the article seemed to be directed toward young women, were not talking about old maids here. So struck a nerve in me….

Even though some don’t think so, Marriage to me is serious, serious mater. It’s not like going grocery shopping or setting a goal to buy your first home. I think every little girl at some point in thinks about there dream wedding or getting married someday. But some young ladies I know see marriage as a destination and not a journey.

Please, please don’t get this twisted! Even when I wasn’t engaged and dating out there, it was still a thought of mine, but not foremost in my mind with every guy I dated, that I want to get married someday, let alone a goal. Ladies, being pushy and upfront like that can get you in some terrible trouble. Hec most guys my age run, even if you think the word marriage LOL.

I guess some young women are more driven to find “The One” out there and if you are just make sure he’s just that “THE ONE” and not just that one.

Just a Doggon Shame

While I happen to be riding to my favorite bookstore on last friday, I heard some news on the radio that at first didn't phase me. But after listening for awhile and looking up the story online, then I found out the real story and it really creeped me out, in a weird sort of way. More baffled than anything.

So the story goes that Soulja Boy and his right hand man Arab got robbed. When I heard the story on the radio they made it sound like an ambush but I found this video online from the supposed actual robbers. This is pitful in more ways than I can describe.

First Post of '09

First off Happy New Years to everyone!!!

I don’t quite know where to start but the last couple of weeks have been interesting. I have been sick with either food poisoning or the stomach flu….I really couldn’t tell which one it was but yeah, not fun at all. I accepted a new job, finally started getting into the nitty gritty details of planning my wedding and also I had the best Christmas ever.

I haven’t really been blogging, no excuses there though. I guess what I’m saying is bear with me through these next couple of weeks as I rev my engine back up to do what I love best….write!

I am excited about 2009! I will be featured writer on a hip-hop music and news site...which I will reveal shortly. Thank you to all my readers and all the encouragement and feedback you continually give me. Later....
